The objective of this competition is to develop closer ties across the European community of haiku creators (although haiku authors from other parts of the world are welcome to submit entries as well). Starting 2018 we are planning one competition yearly: EUROPEAN KUKAI (in 2013-2017 we organized 4 separate quarterly competitions in each year: EUROPEAN QUARTERLY KUKAI). The competition is led in cooperation with the Publishing House KONTEKST from Poznań.

Results of the EUROPEAN KUKAI 2020 (#3/23)

The third annual edition of the European Kukai (and twenty third edition overall) has finished. Congratulations to the winners: Vincenzo Adamo, Eleonore Nickolay and Pere Risteski. Thanks to all participants: 259 - is the largest number of participants in history of our kukai.
There was no specific topic this year but a lot of haiku was sent on on current pandemic and refugee topics. Let’s hope that next year there will be far fewer reasons to write on these topics.
We invite you to the European Kukai 2021.
