The objective of this competition is to develop closer ties across the European community of haiku creators (although haiku authors from other parts of the world are welcome to submit entries as well). Starting 2018 we are planning one competition yearly: EUROPEAN KUKAI (in 2013-2017 we organized 4 separate quarterly competitions in each year: EUROPEAN QUARTERLY KUKAI). The competition is led in cooperation with the Publishing House KONTEKST from Poznań.

Results of the European Quarterly Kukai #4 - Winter 2013 Edition

Dear haiku friends,
in the fourth edition of the EQK you submitted many good haiku. We had a large dose of excitement in the time of voting. Finally, the three authors obtained a significant advantage, which they managed to keep until the end. This time, the first place for Sara Winteridge (England). Second place for the winner of the third edition: Sondra J. Byrnes (USA) and just behind her Kashinath Karmakar (India). Congratulations to the winners and to all participants.

We are glad that you are with us, and the world team of haiku is becoming increasingly numerous. We are proud of your achievements.

The first year for us! Let's play in next one.
