The objective of this competition is to develop closer ties across the European community of haiku creators (although haiku authors from other parts of the world are welcome to submit entries as well). Starting 2018 we are planning one competition yearly: EUROPEAN KUKAI (in 2013-2017 we organized 4 separate quarterly competitions in each year: EUROPEAN QUARTERLY KUKAI). The competition is led in cooperation with the Publishing House KONTEKST from Poznań.

Results of the EUROPEAN QUARTERLY KUKAI #12 - Winter 2015 Edition (topic: day/night)
Dear Haiku Friends. We are with you for three years. Together we have created a very big contest. The
turnout shows that such an initiative was needed and still arouses considerable
interest. The 12th edition of EQK was attended by 186 authors (from 38
countries) including 22 new participants. The winner was Radu Tudosan from
Romania. Second place went to Sandra Martyres from India. The order of the next
places was changed frequently. Finally, third place with the same number of
points went to four authors: Emanuel Jessie Kalusian from Nigeria, Christiane
Ranieri from France, Alegria Imperial from Canada and Maria Tomczak from
Poland.
Congratulations to the winners, thanks to all participants. Next
edition will be organized in spring 2016.
We wish you all a Happy New Year.
