The objective of this competition is to develop closer ties across the European community of haiku creators (although haiku authors from other parts of the world are welcome to submit entries as well). Starting 2018 we are planning one competition yearly: EUROPEAN KUKAI (in 2013-2017 we organized 4 separate quarterly competitions in each year: EUROPEAN QUARTERLY KUKAI). The competition is led in cooperation with the Publishing House KONTEKST from Poznań.

Results of the European Quarterly Kukai #2 - Summer 2013

We would like to thank to the authors from over the world for trusting and participation in the summer edition of the EQK (representatives of 39 countries from six continents). It exceeded our expectations. Voting and your comments shows, that you found good and interesting haiku. Congratulations to the winners: Andrea Cecon from Italy, Rosa Clement from Brasil, Wieslaw Karlinski from Poland, John McManus from England and Roberta Beary from USA. Upcoming voices kept us in suspense until the last moment and you can notice that the differences are really small. It's a pity, that with the increase in the number of participants increases a group of authors with no points. But you should be hopeful - another autumn edition of the EQK at the end of August. Regards.

162 authors from 39 countries:

Australia (6), Austria (2), Bangladesh (1), Belgium (3), Bosnia and Herzegovina (2), Brazil (2), Bulgaria (6), Canada (5), Croatia (9), Denmark (2), Finland (1), France (3), Germany (12), Ghana (1), Greece (1), Hungary (3), India (8), Indonesia (2), Italy (2), Israel (2), Japan (1), Lithuania (14), Malaysia (1), Mexico (1), Mongolia (2), The Nederlands (2), New Zealand (2), Philippines (2), Poland (6), Romania (15), Russia (7), Serbia (5), Slovenia (1), Switzerland (2), Trinidad and Tobago (1), Ukraine (1), United Kingdom (4), USA (21), Yemen (1)
